About The TV Show
Deal or No Deal is a popular British game show that first aired on November 25, 2000. Hosted by Noel Edmonds, the format is based on the Dutch game, Miljoenenjacht (Hunt for Millions), which saw players open random boxes in the quest for cash prizes. In Deal or No Deal, one player is selected from a group of 22 to take their box to the front of the stage and play the game. At this point, the player opens random boxes over the course of multiple rounds. As each box is opened, a cash value ranging from £0.01 to £250,000 is revealed.
When a cash amount is revealed, it’s removed from the game and the player can no longer win that prize. At the end of each round, the Banker calls the studio and makes an offer to the player. The offer is based on a variety of factors, including the number of boxes left to open and the cash prizes still in play. Whenever the player receives an offer, they can choose to accept or reject it. If the deal sounds good, the player can say “deal” and they’ll bank whatever prize has been offered to them.
In contrast, by saying “no deal”, the game continues until the player is left with just two boxes – their own box and one from the general selection. If the game reaches this point and the player rejects the final offer, they can either open their box or swap it. Eventually, the player opens the box in front of them and takes whatever prize is in it.
In a nutshell, Deal or No Deal is all about random numbers and timing, much like bingo. This is the reason these two games have meshed so well and why DOND bingo is now one of the top variants online.
The Rules
Deal or No Deal Bingo takes classic bingo game formats like 90-ball and 75-ball and fuses them with popular elements from the game show. Depending on the bingo site you join, game tickets can cost between £0.10 and £0.50. Alternatively, you can also play free DOND bingo at some sites as part of a new player welcome package. Because Deal or No Deal bingo is now hugely popular, you’ll find these games are running 24/7 and usually have a maximum capacity of 128 players.
At the start of a game, players are randomly presented with one of the 22 mystery boxes, just like they would be in the show. As well as containing a random cash prize, each box is marked with a number. This element of the game is significant because when that number is called, the corresponding box is opened and its cash value removed from the board. With this dynamic in place, the rest of the game runs in the same way as a traditional version of online bingo. This means play pauses when a line, two lines and, finally, a full house is made.
As you’d expect, line and two-line wins are small fraction of the prizepool, while the full house banks to the top prize. However, in line with the DOND dynamic, the full house winner receives a phone call from the Banker. At this point, they are made an offer for their box based on the numbers left on the game the board. Before the player decides whether or not to accept the Banker’s offer, their peers get to vote on whether or not they’d take it or not. Eventually, the player makes their move and either takes the offer or opens their box to reveal their final prize.
Special Features And Bonuses
Besides the TV show inspired structure of the game, the other added extra you’ll find when you play DOND bingo is its progressive jackpot. In one instance, a special token awards the lucky player with 50% of the progressive jackpot, while the rest of the active players split the other 50%. Another way to win the progressive jackpot is to complete a full house in fewer than 31 calls. Playing Dond on the go is available on most mobile bingo sites.
Another thing that’s worth noting when you play Deal or No Deal Bingo is the community interaction. As we’ve noted, all active players in a game get to cast their vote on the Banker’s final offer. This is something you won’t find in other games and it’s an entertaining take on the chat feature that’s common in the bingo world.
Beyond the DOND bingo’s innate special features, our recommended sites have their own bonuses. Located on the outside of the betting board, this bet allows you to enter a virtual version of Deal or No Deal if a red or black phone (located in an outer ring) lines up with number that appears in the inner ring. When the bonus game kicks into life, you’ll choose and box and open the remaining ones until only two remain or you accept an offer. The max win is 151X your stake.
Deal or No Deal Scratch Game: If you play the What’s in Your Box scratch game, you’ll buy-in for between £1 and £20 and play three games. In the first game, if your number is higher than the Banker’s, you win. In the second game, two matching cash amounts wins you a prize. Finally, if you reveal three telephones in the third game, you’ll active the bonus box where you can bank a progressive jackpot.
